Windows XP: Loading windows + BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) + restart loop; Solved

I’ve had another experience which I want to share with you!

Once came home, tried to start my windows, I got BSOD flashing and got in a restart loop;

The blue screen said it may be a software or hardware malfunction, I searched my problem on the web and I got some info, which said something about ACPI, USBs, etc; I tried all those, but those didn’t work.

So I remembered an old solution, I put Windows XP installation disk into my DVD-ROM, entered Recovery Console by choosing to repair my system,

typed “fixboot”, continued by a “Y” to make sure I was going to create a new boot sector.

And everything was OK.

I that didn’t work, try typing “fixMBR” continued by a “Y” to make sure I was going to create a new Master Boot Record.

After this two commands, have a “chkdsk” on your drive,

Wish it work out for you!

Want to run Turbo C compiler or other DOS programs on Windows Vista or Seven?

I want to share my experience of running TC on Windows Seven:

1. Download DOSBOX 0.72.

2. Install it following the instructions setup.

3. Place TC in a folder (Turbo\TC\).

4. Run DOSBOX and type:

mount [A drive letter except Z] [Your folder to be mounted to a DOS drive]

For example here my TC folder is in H:\Turbo\TC\ , then I have to type: mount j H:\Turbo

Then you`ll get a message that the drive has been mounted successfully as a local drive.

5. Now run TC with the same commands as DOS commands; here we can type:

J:\TC\BIN\TC.exe

And here is TC, you can get the full screen feature by pressing ALT+ENTER.

Note: After running TC using DOSBOX, change the Directories from Option\Directories. For example:

“Include directory”: J:\TC\INCLUDE

or “Library directory”: J\TC\LIB

TIP: If while trying to run TC.exe or any other file, you encountered an error saying: “Disk full! not enough swap space”, try using LOADHIGH before typing the .exe path:

loadhigh J:\TC\BIN\TC.exe

So DOSBOX will run the program on real memory instead of it`s own allocated memory.

Have fun.

Prevent your flash memory from being infected by Autorun.inf

First thing to start with is that most viruses use DOS command lines to do their work.

Autorun.inf is replaced by the existing one using a command line to delete the previous Autorun.inf file and replace the new one which runs .exe files that corrupt your system.

Let`s solve it:

1. You can create a folder named Autorun.inf, and as the DOS command line to delete a file and folder defers, and also windows won`t let a file to be dubbed with the same name as a folder [Thanks to Microsoft]; so most autorun viruses will fail replacing their Autorun.inf; But some are more wise.

2. To make sure that your Autorun.inf folder cannot be deleted by any virus, you can create a .txt file named by Unicode characters; you can type Unicode character from character map which you can find from: Start->All Programs>Accessories->System Tools->Character Map, by using “Arial Unicode MS” font and typing a name like this. (It will turn to cubes when you finished renaming, it`s OK.)

3. You can 100% assure your Autorun.inf folder to be fixed by running this VB Script and creating a locker file in your folder. (The script, uploaded on Rapidshare, will be available until April 27 2009)

The script uploaded on SkyDrive
